Canstruction is one of the Architecture industry’s most renowned global nonprofits. Founded in 1992 in New York City, the organization was established to bring Architects and Engineers together to work toward a common cause – hunger relief. Each year in cities all over the world the organization launches competitions among teams from top firms, requiring them to create structurally sound sculptures out of donated cans of food. In NYC, City Harvest distributes the cans to those in need in time for Thanksgiving. To date, Canstruction New York has contributed over one million pounds of food.
Two Parade Staffing team members attended the special 20th Anniversary Canstruction Gala night last Thursday, November 7 at Battery Gardens. At the Gala, the Canstruction jurors announced the awards, including one for Structural Ingenuity and one for Best Use of Logos. The Jurors’ Favorite award went to “Pour Your Heart Out” by Leslie E. Robertson Associates.
